DESCRIPTION:
"Gladys" is mahogany 17 foot Chris Craft Ski Boat. Full bottom up restoration completed in 1988 by boat builder and Chris Craft restoration specialist Kenneth Travers. Restoration included sealed bottom boards over marine plywood creating a watertight hull.
The original engine, Chevy
283, was replaced with a 305,Z-28 Chevy V8 and coupled to a Velvet drive transmission. Recent sea trial proved that the engine runs strong and the boat planes quickly. The boat is plumed for garden hose attachment to allow fresh water flushing of the engine.
Recent improvements include; oil pan drain hose, new battery, fuel pump and bilge pump. The included trailer's wheel bearings have been serviced, has new tires, new wiring for lights, bunks have been recovered, and trailer posts have been installed.
