for sale 1965 Chris craft commander 47 – boat is currently at river. I bought two years ago when I had plenty of time to work on her and since have had lifestyle change. powered by Detroit 8v53 original diesels with 1800 hours on them. 8kw owan generator I ran for 4 hours today. has 4 6v house batteries, six starting batteries, standalone battery for generator and two 12v batterys to make 24v for anchor and bow thruster. Boat grew up on Great Lakes and was moved down south in 2015. Have all the original manuals and almost all service history. in 1998 she was refitted inside with all mahogany interior and granite counter tops. boat has two heads a master stateroom, three bunk beds up front. was also rewired at the time. the fly bridge is a work in progress as some of the gauges and such do not work, but the engine gauges that were installed in 2014 work fine and she is a pleasure to drive. has radar, chart plotter (doesn’t work) and a back up chart plotter that does work. has two refrigerators a microwave, electric range, hot water, all the original equipment is in the cockpit with tach and synchronizer. has two air conditioners but one of them hasn’t worked since the 70’s would be my guess, but the compressor is still under the galley so would just need someone with more marine air experience than I have. I replaced impellers on the starboard engine and the generator as well as a new front bilge pump. as you can tell by the hours she has been a dock queen most of her life.
The bad – port engine needed a head replaced. It is disassembled an the heads are at the machine shop getting a new head for the one side and just decking the other head since have to pull both to get the darn things out of there. I don’t really have time to put it back together at moment so I am willing to sell boat for k and let seller deal with reassembly which I could help with in spare time. cost for heads is and there is a marine repair man onsite at the marine which is why I am offering the discount. I would love to keep her but she is just too big for where we are with kids and so forth. I recently moved her to a different marina for a buyer but deal fell through when he had job change and didn’t need boat anymore. All batteries are new and she is back on shore power so everything works. I am willing to deliver on gulf coast for a few dollars plus fuel.
