Step One: Ask questions about a boat, request shipping quote to your country (make sure first a boat and shipping cost fit into your budget).
Step Two: Order a Full Survey. *You can buy As-Is, but we always recommend a Full Survey for buyers protection.
Step Three: Once a Full Survey comes back satisfactory (normally within 3-5 days), you want to proceed with a boat purchase and your offer is accepted, we will e-mail you an invoice to pay for a boat and shipping with wire transfer instructions. We start a boat export process once your wire has been received.
Cover pick April 2020
Typical story, I got a bigger boat… (check out ). SV Lenora is an amazing boat though, solid bones and rig. She’s got a paid slip at Pequonnock Yacht club thru April I believe. If I don’t sell her now, I will return in April to do more work to her and sell her for much more. I converted her to electric which works great as long as she can get shore power, I was going to build a stern arch for the 48v solar bank but then the new boat came into my life.
There’s a lot to say about this vessel, she’s a project but also pretty much ready to go sailing. Paperwork is complicated but it does exist. I put in at least k making her electric and comfortable to live on. Has a huge V berth, and the workings of a compost toilet system (number 1 is good to go into the septic tank but needs a couple mods to hold the compost bucket). Can be a year round liveabard at Quinnipiak River Marina where I kept her for 2 years. Feel free to ask questions, she’s currently at a slip at Pequonnock Yacht Club.
Some points I can think of at the moment:
-48v Thunderstruck w motor with roller chain reduction 1.5-1
-48v All in One unit (solar, shore, inverter for 120ac)
-11.3kwh of used nissan leaf Lithium Ion batteries, 237ah in a fire protected box with built in suppressant system
-Btm paint was last done in April ’20
-dripless shaft seal (, such a nice system in my opinion)
-Costs to ‘fill the tank’ at the dock, can run around 4 knots for 6ish hours depending
-Needs cosmetic deck work, toe rails, deck paint, nonskid
-Very cozy inside, well insulated with wood stove that needs a bit of repair
-Custom doors I built, so easy to get in and out
-Solid vinyl floor
-very few leaks for her age
-I’m the 3rd owner since 1966, original owner treated her very well
-Genoa 130 I believe, don’t even need the massive main sometimes.
-Tiller steered
-Propane grill on stern rail
-Custom booth settee on port side, that can become sleeper, to sleep 4 comfortably
-spacious saloon due tth setup (old table took up so much space)
-35LOA, 24 atw, 9.5 beam, 6 draft net7 (
-No soft spots
-Sails are a bit worn, but they work. Jib will need new cover soon
-teak toe rails are stripped but will need sealed and varnished
-12v solar panel for house bank, all lighting, bilge pump, phone chargers off of house
So much more… I’m on the go, living full time on the new boat. I have friends in New Haven that can show her to you if you are interested.
Thanks!
Michael
