DESCRIPTION:
Complete 1970 Classic 41' Hatteras Twin Cabin Luxury Yacht. This boat is in need of TLC and interested party to renovate and refresh her. Perfect boat for family and friends weekend getaways or to live aboard. After amateur refurbishment this is a boat with a repurchase value of for the equivalence. It has two Ford 427 GT40 Motors valued at each. They have very low hours and run perfectly. For gas engines they are very efficient, 2 gallons/hr/engine. Equivalent to a diesel, but with the 3500 in RPM's when wanted to run on a plane at 20 - 24 knots.
This boat was designed with a V-Berth Bow cabin with closet and own bathroom. There is a kitchen with stove and Fridge. The stove is a three burner with an oven, all working. The fridge is a small apartment size and freezes up it's so cold. Sink and cabinets in the Galley. The forward bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The saloon is spacious and capable of hosting two full couches that can convert to a double bed where four can sleep, two on each couch. Area for TV and bar, with side cabinets. There is an aft cabin under the poop deck. It has three closets and fitted with two large single beds. It also has it's own separate bathroom. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. Very spacious room.
In all this boat can sleep up to eight comfortably. There is also tons of deck space that can also be used for sleeping accommodations or just lounging. These Hatteras boats were built in the 70's for strength, safety, comfort and class for the upper middle class. That comfort is still achievable today. The solid Hatteras design of this boat was to host friends and family for day trips or overnight trips. With smaller groups of 6, it can be used for trips that last up to a week or more or for traveling long distances. It wasn't built for speed, but capable of getting to a destination in a reasonable time, or getting out of the way of bad weather if needed.
I've refreshed both engines and made the boat seaworthy. I had intentions of reconditioning it for family and friends, but my plans have changed and I have lost my motivation. For someone with the money and time, this is a great investment. A fully professionally renovated boat like this at any boat show would sell for - . FLIBS is this weekend, see for yourself. It would be like owning a classic that is envied by most and owned by the committed. In honesty to bring this boat back to excellent condition, would be in the range of . But to make it comfortable, usable and a personal joy if done by the owner . Then you would have a two bedroom water motorhome.
This is honest, so all interested parties, let's keep it honest and without the shame and hassle of useless bartering. Serious enquires from serious buyers only. I'm willing to do water test when available, but it will cost the potential buyer for one hour, to reduce the tire kickers. Looking forward to meeting her future owner.
