DESCRIPTION:
1971 Allied Mistress 39' center cockpit ketch blue water sailboat, hull # 1. I purchased this boat three years ago during the pandemic with plans to refurb it and go cruising, but plans have changed and I no longer have time to complete the project, and I'm getting too old to handle the boat alone. Here’s your chance to get a cruising yacht at an affordable price.
The standing rigging was replaced less than two years ago and steps added to the mast. All new electrical panel, solar charger controller, battery. New furling genoa and mizzen sails. Main sail is in good condition. Original Westerbeke 40hp engine with 5300 hours, starts in less than a second. Both heads replaced (aft head yet to be installed). Walk-through design. Bimini (older) and stainless frame. Shallow draft 4'6", boat has been to the Bahamas numerous times.
Hot and cold pressure water system (120 gallon capacity), propane stove/oven with three tanks. Refrigerator/freezer non-working (needs compressor or replacement). Autopilot, GPS chartplotter, VHF, LED lighting. 2000 watt inverter/charger. No dinghy, but 15HP Johnson outboard included. Many tools, supplies and spare parts. Cosmetically the boat needs TLC but structurally sound and good bones. Sailable as is.
Located in Halifax Harbor marina, Daytona Beach. Slip available, currently /month including electric and WIFI. Liveaboard possible. This is a "hurricane hole" marina where they don't make you move your boat for storms. I live nearby and can generally show the boat after 5pm and on weekends if scheduled.
