DESCRIPTION:

1971 27' restored lifeboat/workboat from a 250' oceangoing tugboat. (Launched as 'Simson S' in commercial service in the North Sea, the tug was later converted into an expedition yacht. The new owner renamed it 'Lone Ranger' in 1996 and sold the lifeboat to its current owner)

Stoutly built by well-known German lifeboat maker Robert Hatecke, many upgrades over the last three decades have made this an ideal river cruising launch. The maximum passenger rating is 35, but 10 to 15 is quite comfortable. Cruising at 6 knots consumes approximately a half gallon of fuel per hour, and the double-ended hull leaves little wake at that speed. Care has been taken to keep the lines 'as-built', with new components as concealed as possible.

The electrical system was completely replaced, along with the engine, gearbox. shaft, and bearing. A bowthruster was added along with a custom stereo system.
