For Sale: 1977 Gulfstar 37' Aft Cockpit Sailboat – Ideal for Cruising Adventures
Price: (Firm)
Are you ready to sail the open waters or live the dream aboard your own spacious, well-maintained vessel? This 1977 Gulfstar 37' aft cockpit sailboat is the perfect combination of comfort, performance, and durability, ideal for cruising, offshore sailing, or even a liveaboard lifestyle. USCG documented since first purchased, this solid, heavy vessel has been lovingly cared for and is in fantastic shape for its age.
Key Features:
Sturdy Build: Weighing in at 19,500 lbs dry with a 7,800 lb keel, the Gulfstar 37 is designed to handle the rigors of offshore and Caribbean cruising. With a 5' draft and 12' beam, she’s a stable, reliable sailboat for both experienced sailors and those looking to start their adventure.
Spacious Interior: With two pull-out settees that transform into comfortable berths and a large V-berth with a hanging locker and storage drawers, there’s plenty of space to live aboard or entertain. The boat features a full galley with a 2-burner propane stove and oven, plus a manual head with shower and sink for all your comforts.
Upgraded Electronics & Systems: This boat has seen extensive upgrades over the years, including:
2020: 2 Kyocera 135-watt solar panels with a new solar controller, plus a rebuilt starter motor and electrical system upgrades.
2021: Full suite of new electronics including B&G Zeus-3 chartplotter (9"), Halo-20 radar, Raymarine autopilot, and new windlass.
2021: New lithium 300 Amp hour LiFePO4 house battery for extended power and off-grid capabilities.
Engine & Rigging: Powered by a Perkins 4-108 diesel engine, fully rebuilt in 2002 with only 1,000-1,100 hours on it. The standing rigging and mast step were replaced in 2014, and the Quantum sails (2009) are in excellent condition, with the 150 head sail serviced in 2020. The Harken roller furler and boom vang ensure smooth sailing.
Recent Maintenance: The boat has been well-maintained with a complete bottom job (2018/19), including soda blasting, blister repair, and the application of five coats of barrier paint. It’s ready to cruise, with many extra parts and manuals included for easy maintenance and peace of mind.
Location: Currently docked on Nantucket Island at Nantucket Boat Basin, this boat is available for viewings to serious buyers. Please ensure that you have secured funds prior to scheduling a visit. The transaction will take place at a bank, as this is a USCG documented vessel and requires notarized paperwork. Thank you, and lets set sail.
