DESCRIPTION:
BRISTOL 32 SLOOP Sailboat in acceptable condition on the hard in Guaymas Sonora Mex. About 300m south of Tucson, AZ.
Seller is in Washington state, enfeebled and huddled against the terrifying cold.
NEEDS:
Topside is primer coated epoxy but needs topcoat applied. Exhaust needs a hose clamp- included with your purchase- easy access. Probably needs full battery replacement as the boat has gone unused during covid. (One group 24 for engine, 4 6V golf cart for house- available locally including delivery).
EVERYTHING ELSE ANY WELL BALANCED PERSONALITY NEEDS TO BE HAPPY IS PACKED INSIDE THE BOAT!
Working alone in a leisurely fashion it takes me about 2 weeks to "recommission" the boat after each hurricane season. You can park one vehicle and live aboard for an extra per day- not a misprint. Includes power/water/shower- sketchy internet. Boat storage is usd monthly.
Permit (TIP) good till fall of 2023. UPDATE: Permit is expired. Renewal is roughly usd and may be done locally. You don't need an agent. They speak Spanglish.
TERMS OF SALE:
USCG Documented Vessel. Send me the money and I will get the title notarized and send it to you. You sign it and send it to Virginia. It takes 4-6 weeks to get your working title from Homeland/USCG. This is how I got the boat circa 2010. I was overwhelmed but not disappointed.
YOU CAN USE AN ESCROW SERVICE AT YOUR EXPENSE IF YOU PREFER. If you are not a US citizen I don't know what to do.
Year made 1978 - Total Refit in 2005 including shipyard below-waterline peel and 1/16th+ " epoxy barrier coat.
Heavy cruising sails. Custom built in Good condition with three point Jiffy reef system. Proper SS cringles. Roller Furling headsail.
Storm jib, for removable babystay made off to rail. Parachute (Cargo chute) emergency at-sea anchor system.
Sails, sail handling, reefing and all working lines removed and stored below.
Big Bruce on 110ft of 5/16 chain + 200ft rode, CQR stern anchor, chain and line in cockpit locker. Four Inflatable fenders. Heavy dock lines and so on.
12V Anchor winch+ foot switch - came off a 40ft boat so plenty of pull.
Badly faded but usable mainsail cover and soft dodger. Waiting for a deal on a sewing machine but no luck so far,..
Oversized rigging, hard rails near cockpit for solar mounts/safety, 8 foot inflatable- needs oars, dodgy Merc 2.5hp outboard. Hours of entertainment there,.. Forspar outboard pulley lift system on stern rail. These are a howling now. Makes me laugh.
Pedestal Wheel steering. Cable operated. Autohelm 3000 wheel steering system. Had many adventures with this,..
Two blade prop with extra three blade on board.
Yamaha 2QM, 2 cylinder 17hp inboard Diesel reliable and in good order. Many, many spares including most of the ridiculously overpriced kit- head gaskets+ new injectors as spares etc. Straight transmission and shaft with dripless system. Recent new engine mounts and flex shaft coupler. Needs seasonal zincs.
Redundant/Switch-underway fuel filter system with extra filters on board.
Gimbaled SS Propane stove. Top burners work but less said the better as the oven/broiler is temperamental.
17 gal fuel in poly tank under cockpit floor. (5) 5gal jerry jugs aboard. Tank cleaned 5 years ago.
100 gal water: Bilge+ flexible bow tank. 12V pump.
Solar panels with regulation. Not fancy but work perfectly well.
JRC 1000 B/W radar, sender on custom SS pole integrated into SS rear arch.
Ham radio+ VHF+ handheld.
GPS plotter -not fancy but works. On swing-out hatchway mount. Sounder+ fish finder as backup+ handheld for dingy and extra backup.
High output alternator with fancy computer regulation.
2 forward hatches, 5 SS ports- opening with homemade mosquito covers - wind scoop.
Cabled Lee cloths for sleeping in seaway. New custom cushions in Forepeak.
Electric guitar and midi keyboard, personal items etc still there,..
Basic hand pump Head, works- takes a few days to get settled- plastic holding tank with discharge valve, plumbed but never used.
Cockpit shower- this is somewhat improvised but actually quite fun, especially for the neighbors. Hang-up camp style shower bag also on board.
Gimbaled 1lb propane burner with 1 quart SS pitcher. Most used item on the boat and my personal favorite.
Modest sized Isotherm 12v fridge built into custom toploader- probably needs a recharge after sitting for the past three years. Fittings and “tap-a-can” onboard. Slip fittings replaced with permanent.
12V "Survivor" watermaker, 4amp makes about 1 gallon per hour. Easy conversion to included hand crank.
Documentation for all systems hard copy and CD. Shelf of Fixit books, Calder, Casey, Cornell etc. Works of fiction/philosophy/humor etc. Charts, Guides, Treasure Map,..
Sailboatdata website shows the two masted (Ketch) version of Ted Hoods design which I have never seen in the wild. Mine is a single masted (Sloop) of which I have seen several.
