DESCRIPTION:
My wife and I are selling our sailboat. We’ve recently completed many upgrades and she is ready to get out and go sailing. We had planned to take her to the Bahamas, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we’re unable to go.

Prior to our purchase, the boat had been re-powered with a Beta 16 which has run flawlessly for us. She’s also had her rigging replaced within the last three years according to the inspection we had on her prior to our first sail. If you’re new to sailing, or new to sailing a cutter, she features a self-tacking stay-sail which improves her her handling. In most cases she has plenty of power under her main and stay-sail alone.
The Southern Cross 28 is a venerable Bluewater cruiser, which is why we had bought her. She is capable of taking you on the journey you’re looking for, whether you’re looking to cross the Atlantic, or have a day sail in the river, this boat is a capable cruiser for any experience level.
Also - according to the state of Florida she is an antique sailing vessel and as such, her registration is next to nothing.
