This is a 1980 Cape Dory 30 Cutter in great condition and ready to go for this season. This boat has everything you need to be comfortable on the water for weeks at a time. Small cruiser easy to single hand and comfortable enough for a couple. I won’t have the time to make use of her this season and hadn’t planned on selling her so I didn’t have a complete photo set prepared before winterizing. The boat is currently on stands and covered in Surry, ME. Here is everything she has and doesn’t.

Sails are in good condition, and there’s a second set of sails as well which I believe are still good, but truthfully I’ve never opened them up. There is a high cut yankee jib, staysail on a self tacking boom and mainsail. The two jibs are on roller furlings. The main sail drops down into a sail pack which is a huge convenience. Last season I replaced the topping lift for the main boom. The rigging and mast are also in good condition.

Engine is a Yanmar 2GM20 16 horsepower diesel which has around 700 hours on it. I have never had any issues with it. There’s a fuel tank that’s 11 gallons if I remember correctly.

Autopilot is the Raymarine EV-100 wheel pilot, I replaced the drive motor last season this is new.

Instruments there is a Garmin GPS chartplotter, I think its an Echomap model, it’s a bit older but still works very well. I also used a GPS enabled tablet with the Navionics app which is a nice backup. There’s also a working depth sounder and speed wheel with readout. There is no radar unit or AIS there is a VHF radio.

Dinghy there’s a small inflatable dinghy (zodiac) with a 2.5 HP engine. This is only 3 years old. I believe it’s just a 6 foot dingy. This is light enough for it to be hoisted on the davits so you don’t have to tow your dinghy.

Hull Is fiberglass there are no leaks or damage. I used the Interlux Micron CSC multi-season ablative bottom paint prior to last season. This paint held up well and is good for another season. The hull has a 4.5 foot draft. I will also be including the boat stands when you buy it.

Interior There’s a refrigerated ice box, 2 burner alcohol stove, sink fed by electric pump and seawater foot pump for rinsing dishes, two 30 gallon fresh water tanks, a 5 gallon hot water tank heated by the engine, shower, toilet with seawater hand pump and holding tank, small wood burning stove for heat, gimbled oil lamp, flip down table, queen size v-birth, and single sized couch in the main room, small chart table, LED lighting, and I added a USB charging port for cell phones and gadgets, hanging wet locker.

Anchor is a 35 pound CQR with 25 feet of chain and another 150 feet of rope. It’s on an electric windlass and there’s a seawater hose on the bow for rinsing the mud off. There’s also a small danforth style anchor for the stern if needed in tight anchorages. I also have a 35 pound bruce anchor if wanted.

Solar there are two 50 watt solar panels they are 2 years old. I mount them on the bimini with rare earth magnets, these are wired to a solar controller.

Bimini and Dodger are both in good condition, the clear plastic for the dodger is still very clear.

Batteries this is the one thing you’ll need to take care of yourself. There were two 105 amp hour deep cycle lead acid batteries mounted under the V-birth. They were 6 years old and at the end of last season they would no longer hold a charge. I was going to replace them with AGM however, as I am selling the boat I will not be doing that. Everyone has their own opinion on the best battery type so you may want to upgrade to your own needs.

Negatives I only know about 2 issues to be addressed (other than batteries), the bilge pump does not seem to trigger automatically, maybe the float switch is stuck, but it still turns on with a switch at the main switch board. The second issue it there is a small drip leak on the seacock at the head. It’s definitely coming from the valve body and not the hull. It’s slow enough I haven’t actually seen it drip and it’s only enough water that it can be wiped up with a rag.
