DESCRIPTION:
Plume is a Hans Christian 33 traditional long keel sailboat with a cutaway forefoot and solidly attached rudder.
Length overall is 42 feet with a 12 feet wide beam well carried forward.
The long encapsulated keel will easily handle most groundings.
With a cutter rig, self tacking staysail and an overbuilt standing rigging, this heavy built sailboat was meant for ocean cruising.
Not meant for winning races, Plume has what it takes to safely get you to your destination. She will give you easy motion at sea and total calm at anchor.
All tankage in the keel leaving plenty space under the bunks for provisions or other.
Queen size Pullman berth, double quarter berth. She sleeps 4 comfortably.
Hull and decks are entirely GRP with minimum thickness of 5/8 inch. Teak all over the place. No noticeable movement in any structural members. Decks are stiff as a concrete sidewalk. No wonder she weighs over 9 tons, but she will nonetheless reach her maximum hull speed of 7.4 knots.
