Kaufman 47 Cutter Rigged Sailboat Project.
Family issues and time constraints force offering.

The boat is in mid refit mode.
1. The original teak decks were at end of life and have been removed, all screw holes filled with epoxy. (Decks are solid fiberglass, so no rotten coring)
Decks will require additional attention to make ready for new finish.
Deck hardware that needs rebedding has been removed.
The deck hatches have been removed for rebedding (which will be performed included in price)
The windlass (Maxwell Capstan) has been removed for service, (which will be re-installed included in price).

2. The Lower Rudder bearing is being replaced (will be finished included in price)

3. The engine is a Westerbeke 82B in excellent condition, 1400 + or - hours, starts runs excellent. The gearbox is a V drive and recently rebuilt.

4. The onboard Diesel generator is 4200 watts has only 66 hours, turns over but doesn't start...(believed to be a fuel issue....fuel pump)

5. There is some water damage on the interior but really not too bad at all.

6. The Sails are manufactured by Mack Sails for offshore work. The Main and staysail are in excellent like new condition, however the Genoa will need to be repaired at the very top ****see history below.

7. Will need new forestay and foils for the Genoa furler...see history below.

8. The forepeak has been gutted for 2 reasons: a. There is a Lewmar Bow thruster to be installed b. The forepeak is being converted into a proper storage and work room area with optional Pullman style birth (to be completed by new owner or through contract work).

9. The Black tank for the forward Head has been removed, but is present. (The plan was to replace traditional heads with Composting heads).

10. The entire electrical system needs to be inspected, certain wiring may need repair or replaced....see history below.

History:
The prior owner spent 10's of thousands of dollars on this boat, new sails, new rigging, new chain plates, transmission rebuilt, engine completly gone through (All new hoses, clamps, filters, heat exchangers, (engine is in like new condition)
Including many many new improvements. Finally the vessel was splashed and ready to cruise, then "it" happened.
First off the vessel's Mast is a total of 66', its a massive off shore rig. The prior owner mis-judged the air draft of a high power electric line crossing the ICW, and yes the power line caught the Mast right at the point where the forstay toggle joins the Mast.
The forestay burnt through at that point and also burnt the top of the Brand New Mack Genoa.
All the new electronics were instantly fried....mfd, autopilot, instruments all electrical equipment ruined.
Because the engine does not have any computerized components the engine panel and engine were unharmed.
As of now all lights, pumps, instruments will need replacement.

Replacement Airconditioner units, replacement pumps, some LED lighting, replacement breakers, and marine grade wire will go with the vessel.

The vessel will have to be moved to another boat yard upon purchase (a couple DIY liveaboard yards nearby) or if you choose to contract with us to perform some of the work, the boat can stay here rent free, but NO Liveaboard here. No exceptions.

25,000.00 cash..... firm.
No trades, price can be paid in 3 installments IF we are retained to help finish repairing the vessel. Otherwise cash and move the boat.
The boat may be inspected with a scheduled visit only.
