VESSEL BACKGROUND: 1987 Hunter Legend 35.5 sailing vessel “Winds A Loft” is looking for a wonderful and loving new owner(s) passionate for sailing a vintage well-cared for / “all original” sloop rigged boat with a bulb winged keel and a 4.5 foot draft and a pretty white hull and blue bottom paint and all original interior and original “running” factory installed fresh-water cooled Yanmar 3GM30F 24 HP diesel engine. The boat has several winches for convenient sailing and includes two mainsails and three jibs and three anchors; Bruce, CQR, and Danforth. It has a roomy below deck area including galley with an original factory installed CNG stove and a “top-loading” DC powered refrigerator and an Aft cabin mounted Microwave and beautiful original Formica countertops. The all-original-wood interior and salon is accented by a very robust-solid Formica faced factory original center mounted table with folding leaves and a wall mounted TV and includes a 2000 watt Inverter and a portable AC-power air conditioner (normally stored in the Aft cabin when not in use). The vessel has undergone substantial refits between 2019 and 2024. Refits include new standing/running rigging, new propeller shaft and drip-less shaft assembly, new cutlass bearing, new engine motor mounts, new chart-plotter, new engine throttle and shifter cables, new pedestal steering cabling including new Edison rudder quadrant, and a completely new MSD system with a new holding tank, new hoses and Y-value, and a new electrically operated macerator pump. Cockpit lazaret includes a conveniently located AC and 12 volt DC outlet and a “custom-designed” heavy duty floor for housing a second refrigerator/freezer or other similar equipment. The boat is equipped with two Type 27 battery banks (four batteries total), one battery bank located in a compartment in the Aft cabin, and the other bank located in the lazaret. The battery charger and solar charge control unit with circuit breakers are conveniently located in the Aft cabin. Auxiliary vehicles and equipment include two nine-foot dinghy’s, two vintage two-cycle outboards (6 HP and 9.5 HP with wheel trolleys), one four-cycle 2.5 HP outboard (requires servicing to run), and accompanying metal gas tanks, one fixed one-person kayak and one two-person inflatable kayak, several large and small fenders, lots of long and short lines, two electric scooters, and two beach cruiser-style bicycles.

If this boat is for you, please contact me immediately so we can discuss your offer, and the other arrangements that will be required to complete the purchase, including the retrieval and moving of most of the boat equipment and accessories that are stored off-site. Thanks again for your interest in "Winds Aloft," as we have certainly enjoyed her beauty and elegance the last fifteen years in making our sailboat dreams come true. Thank you!
