DESCRIPTION:
1988 Abaco 24', traditional Bahamian sloop, built in fiberglass from a set of molds. 24' x 8.5' x 3.5' A production run was planned but it didn't get off the ground and the first two boats were kept by the builder.
I inherited 'the green turtle', now "turtle sloop" from the original owner/builder in the aftermath of hurricane Dorian.
Feb 2023 she was given a complete refit and is practically a new boat.
New awlgrip, hull and topsides
Kiwi grip nonskid
Epiphanies varnish on all the teak
New standing rigging
New main halyard
New spin halyard hardware and topping lift.
Replaced bottom foot of mast
New lazy jacks
New vhf antenna at mast head
New Windex at masthead
Reclaimed spruce boom gallows
Nice matching canvas.
Nice stainless Bimini top
New composite rudder hardware
New cockpit drain thru hulls in transom (bronze) and hoses
New 50w solar panel and renogy controller
New 2x6v golf cart batteries
Blue seas electrical panel
Origo 2000 alcohol stove
25gal fiberglass water tank under v berth with hand pump at sink (sink drains to a bucket underneath)
Fortress anchor on roller, rope and chain in bag clipped to foredeck.
Original green sails are still functional and being kept alive with sunbrella patches, I also have a set of heavy white Dacron working/cruising sails. 2 sets of reefs on both mains.
6hp tohatsu with ~ 50 hrs.
100% dialed in ready to enjoy. Move well in light air with her spread of canvas and 17' boom. Will very much consider personally delivering her anywhere on the east coast on her own bottom.
Clean Florida title in hand. k
