DESCRIPTION:

Don't you wish you were out on these gorgeous waters exploring with the wind in your hair? Behold our turnkey 1988 Pacific Seacraft Orion 27 mkii, cutter rigged with the cruiser's preferred C interior and tiller steering. She's hull #115 out of 124 built. If you love the Dana 24 but are seeking more room, storage, prettier lines and privacy, the Orion is ideal.

For more information about the Orion 27, see Sailing Magazine’s 2019 article:

This Orion has some unique upgrades such as an extra set of aft shrouds for an even more robust standing rigging setup, two separate anchor lockers each loaded with rode and anchors, three potable water tanks totaling 105 gallons(!), excellent refrigeration with compressor vented to the exterior as desired, two sets of sails, and a matching opening portlight for the aft quarterberth. The Furuno radar with chartnav has the chip for Alaska to South America installed. The slip-on dinghy davits allow shrinking your moorage costs in the off-season.

The excellent Yanmar 3gm30f 24hp engine has 1,210 engine hours and an excellent setup with a drop in Racor fuel filter and a new electric fuel pump making bleeding the system easy. The triple blade bronze prop is coated with Petit zinc primer coat, the hull painted with SeaHawk Sharkskin nonablative bottom paint to ward off marine growth. Being a 1988 build, this Orion has a vinylester resin exterior for the hull to ward off any possible osmotic blistering.

A particular feature to consider is the size of the berths for cruising. The Vberth on this particular interior measures 7'0" wide, 7'0" long down the sides and 6'5" down the center. The aft quarterberth is 6'0" long and 3'0" for the top half before tapering down. The dinette berth is 6'3" long and 3'3" wide for the top 1/3 before tapering to 2'11" for the bottom 1/3. These are generous berths no matter the size of sailboat. For comparison, a queen sized bed is 5' wide by 6'8" long and a king is 6'4" wide by 6'8" long.

Many boat interior designs skimp on berth sizes to create a grand boatshow main cabin visual and hope that you won't notice that the berth lengths were sacrificed to create this.

Recent improvements include newer Groco marine head, new Whalegusher potable water pump, new tiller handle, new portlight gaskets. AGM house and starter batteries about four years old. Hillerange Seaward triple burner kerosene stove recently installed. Newer green fenders for extra sharp look dockside.

Added features include bimini top, custom winter boat cover, autopilot, portlight screens and a little kerosene lamp for ideal year round hangout mood lighting. An inflatable dinghy and propane outboard may also be available for possible purchase. The current home slip at Breakwater Marina is transferable for this boat.
