The Mari Rose – A Proven Bluewater Catamaran, Ready for Adventure
Step aboard The Mari Rose, a spacious, comfortable, and easy-to-sail bluewater catamaran built for serious cruising. This 1992 English-made Solaris Sunstar has proven her seaworthiness, having crossed the Atlantic, sailed the Gulf of Mexico, and explored the Caribbean many times.
With a generous 17’ beam and a 32’ length, she offers exceptional stability and room to relax. Twin 16hp Yanmar engines (2GM20s) with sail drives push her along at 7 knots, giving you power when you need it. She carries a jib, mainsail, and a vibrant spinnaker, with all rigging in solid shape—though the mainsail will need restitching soon.
Self-sufficient and worry-free, The Mari Rose is equipped with two solar panels that keep her four OVER SIZED batteries topped off, a watermaker, and independent bilge pumps for each hull.
Comfort & Livability
Below deck, you’ll find a thoughtfully designed interior with:
• Two double cabins and one single, perfect for cruising with family or friends
• A spacious galley with a full stove, oven, sink, and a large electric-powered refrigerator
• A composting head with a shower, sink, and ample storage
• A roomy salon that seats eight comfortably
Outdoor Spaces Built for Enjoyment
The fully covered Bimini cockpit, supported by a custom aluminum frame, offers shade and protection while accommodating up to 12 people. Two stern bench seats flank a 75-quart Yeti cooler, perfect for keeping drinks cold on long passages.
At the bow, a large mesh trampoline provides a perfect spot to lounge in the sun, feel the wind on your face, or sleep under the stars.
Equipped for Safety & Exploration
The Mari Rose comes fully outfitted with:
• Three anchors, including one with 100 feet of 5/8 chain, another with 25 feet of chain, and a rare XYZ anchor
• A never-used drogue sea anchor
• Garmin 12” GPS and autopilot, allowing a solo sailor to manage all sails from the cockpit
• Plenty of storage, with four spacious bow lockers to hold all your gear
• An extensive toolkit, extra engine parts, and a self-ratcheting 10:1 mast step with harness
• An 8 foot rubber dinghy with a 5
hp, 2024 Mercury engine is all you need to take you from boat to shore or to explore islands or shorelines.
Recent Upgrades & Maintenance
In July 2024, The Mari Rose was hauled out for a full bottom job, including sanding, resurfacing, and repainting of the hull and sail drives. A leaky thru-hull fitting was also repaired, ensuring she’s ready for more miles at sea.
- [ ] She also comes with plenty of extras, including life jackets, dock lines, bumpers, boat hooks, and her own mooring west side of peanut island. She’s move a board ready.
Whether you’re dreaming of long-distance cruising or weekend getaways, The Mari Rose is ready to take you there.
