DESCRIPTION:

1995 Four Winns Vista 238 Cuddy Cabin Cruiser Boat. We have owned it for 3 years and taken it numerous places with us (2 finger lakes, Lake Raystown, Deep Creek, etc.). It is very reliable and has a Volvo Penta fuel injected 5.8L engine. In fact, in 1995, Volvo Penta adapted the Ford Windsor 351 engine, so it is easy to buy parts for at any auto parts store. It always starts right up and is a tough V8 engine that’s never fussy. We’ve had lots of fun with this boat and took it out frequently, but ‘been there, done that’ is setting in and we don’t see ourselves using the boat very much in the future. We put a little less than 100 hrs on the boat, and had a lot of fun.

I specifically sought this boat out when purchasing it (in 2023); it is on the light side to tow (boat’s dry weight = 4400 lbs), it’s 23’ 4” long (fits in transient docks), and still has a cabin to sleep in. It’s a great boat to travel and vacation on, while nimble enough (and with the power) to tow skiers and tubes. It is very niche; if we ever wanted another Cuddy Cabin boat, we would seek this model out again. We were even specific enough that we did not want the 258 (slightly bigger).

*The Cabin* - Sink, microwave (removable as you see in the pictures), fridge, stove, TV, shower, toilet, etc. There are two cabins - the bow can either be a table or covert into a bed that sleeps 2 comfortably. The aft cabin also sleeps 2. There are speakers and a touch screen DVD player radio inside, which also connects to the TV.

*Engine Bay* - two dual-purpose Marine batteries included, one of which is 1 month old. New dual 10A Noco Genius charger which charges the batteries when connected to shore power. The engine has been well maintained since I’ve owned it. Always given the best oil (Royal purple), over-winterized (I can explain in person), and given plenty of preventative maintenance. Clean in the engine bay, and lots of room to get in and work. Not cramped like 2-engine boats.

*Storage* - This boat has been stored indoors since I’ve owned it - it never sat outside for a long period of time, and had a garage to stay in during the winter. The previous owner stored it in Brady’s Bend during the winter (a huge underground storage facility north of Pittsburgh), which stayed at 50°.

*Trailer* - The trailer is a 1998 Four Winns trailer. Two years ago, I re-did the trailer almost completely: Brand new hubs, bearings, seals, sleeves, electric brakes, wiring, battery, and 7-blade harness. The bunk carpet on all of the runners is 2 years old (completely re-done). We have had the trailer on the road countless hours since; it tows very well, the brakes are strong, and the tires are in great shape.

*The Good* - Always cared for and stored out of the water under roof (since I owned it). Not fussy, never given us a problem on the water, and lots of fun. The perfect vacation boat to take on all sorts of lakes. The boat’s systems all work well including water, pumps, engine, cabin features, toilet, etc. The leather of the seats is in above average condition for the age, and all cushions inside are in very good condition. Lots of accessories included (see pictures). Expensive preventative maintenance parts like the gimbal bearing, trailer hubs/brakes, etc. have already been done. No leaks - we never had any water intrusion even after having the boat in the water for a week at a time.

*The Bad* - The rear seats need some structural support underneath to strengthen them. The water heater’s 120V heater element does not work. I never got around to fixing it because the engine also heats the water. If you use the engine for 10 minutes, the water is hot in the water heater. The new buyer can fix the heating element, or just use it like I did. The windshield wiper does not work. The cover was never used by us and is in unknown condition. The outdrive could use some paint; I have the proper spray paint but never got around to it.

Serious inquiries only. Cash only. I’m happy to answer any questions and go over the boat in great detail in person, including a spreadsheet of its maintenance history. Titles in hand for both the trailer and the boat.
