2000 Checkmate Convincor, twin OB

Checkmate Convincor twin OB A lot of you on here know this boat, as chronicled in many threads on Screamandfly.com and know that it is my baby. Started as an I/O powered boat that I converted to twin outboard. I always wanted one of these back when I sold them in 89 and 90 but the factories outboard model which they did offer, came with a splash well which meant there was no sun lounge. I wanted the sun lounge and the storage it provided under it as we weekend on our cuddy cabins. So 30 years later, I rolled my own! Everything on the boat, trailer, motors are either new or has been gone through by me. Motors are both 2000 model year 225 OMC loopers with original power heads. All new ignition, VRO pumps, rebuilt, carburetors, gear cases gone through, left-hand case was new when I started the project five years ago. The boat has two 3 gallon oil tanks in it, which will run through three tanks of fuel before needing more oil! And oil fills are on side of the deck, so no mess inside the boat. Everything in my 67 years of playing with boats has been applied to this project. Any place I saw room for improvement I did it. I built the all stained and varnished mahogany interior for the cabin as well. Boat has shore power, inverter, running water, automatic battery charger, new 92 gallon custom built fuel tank, custom built fiberglass motor bracket, trailer has been completely rebuilt, rebalanced, rebunked, new disc brakes on all four wheels, etc., etc. Boat has been 75 miles an hour since the rebuild and I think it will run 80 with some time. It has spent 95% of its time in Lake Erie and 5 foot waves, doing 25 miles an hour. (I have videos) The local lakes around where we used to live were too small to do much high-speed testing. It is a drivers boat though. If you’re looking for something to point and shoot this ain’t for you. I’ve always liked my boats require some talent to drive. I spent a lot of effort, keeping it on plane at lower speed for the rough water of Lake Erie and it will stay on plane down to 15 miles an hour! Have had it in 7 foot waves there and for a 25 foot boat the things and absolute beast! Needs nothing but a new owner! When we weekend on it, the storage under the sun lounge lets us carry two fold up bicycles for exploring, two deck chairs, a cooler, two anchors, four bumpers, a Walmart, two man dinghy, etc. etc. Cosmetically the boat is a 10 footer, needs wet sanded/buffed or paint to be perfect. It shines now but ain’t perfect and ain’t a trailer queen. My theme has always been functionality more than making it pretty which I always intend to do at the end of the project, but never do. With paint it would passes a new boat. I’ve been into transom, stringers, floor and front deck and is all rock solid w/zero soft wood. Vinyl in cockpit is perfect, upholstery and the Cuddy is also perfect. Has a porta potty under a cushion in the V birth. The bed is so comfortable that I actually fell asleep in it one time while working on it in my shop! I would tow this thing anywhere and run this boat anywhere! Boat has Garmin GPS w/fuel monitoring, a ship to shore that communicates w/the GPS and w/one button will issue a “Mayday” w/your latt/long! Also includes custom built Bimini top, mooring and motor covers. For weekending, there is storage everywhere! New tires on trailer at rebuild and tows straight, level at 80 mph and with discs on all 4 wheels, will stop on a dime! All wire, plumbing, gauges etc are new as well.
