DESCRIPTION:
2002 Albin 28 Tournament Express - Final Draft
The Albin 28 TE is a dual-purpose cruising and fishing boat renowned for its rugged build, seaworthiness, range, and fuel efficiency. Powered by a single Yanmar 315 HP engine, this Albin provides a fun, safe, and reliable boating experience.
For cruising, the boat has a two-person berth and a single berth. It is equipped with a reverse thrust A/C and heater unit, 3 cabin fans, Bluetooth stereo with 4 speakers, water heater, refrigerator, microwave, fresh water pump, single burner butane stove, sink, small countertop, a private head with an electric flush toilet, and bathroom sink with a shower spray head.
For fishing, it has outriggers, a live well, and a flip-up Bimini to allow for headroom over the rear deck.
I looked at every Albin 28 that was available in the state of Florida before I decided to purchase Final Draft. The selling points were that the boat had been well-maintained by the three previous owners, and the engine was solid. My wife and I brought it back to Punta Gorda from Fernandina Beach via the Intracoastal Waterway. We experienced the true spirit of Final Draft when, on the last stretch, due to our poor judgment, we found ourselves in Charlotte Harbor on a clear day with strong winds and gusts exceeding 40 knots. We were the only boat in the harbor. The waves were very rough but Final Draft just shook it off and got us home. This boat is very seaworthy.
I am selling Final Draft because we do not use it enough due to my family situation. We have had some great times cruising to the resort marinas in the area, but now it is time to let someone else enjoy this awesome boat. It has been kept on my boat lift since we brought it home in February of 2023. I have installed (all new) a windless (same specification as original), dripless seal on the shaft, main VHF radio (same spec), Bluetooth stereo, battery charger (same spec), shower sump pump, SeaFlow Marine dry bilge system, windshield wiper arms, engine water hose, transmission oil hoses, and other miscellaneous items. I have also had a complete servicing of the engine by an experienced Yanmar mechanic. All hydraulic and water lines have been replaced. I have all documentation and maintenance records dating back to the date of the original purchase.
The NextGen 3.5 kw generator has been removed, but everything is intact to allow for an easy installation of a generator. A battery-powered generator is also feasible for this boat.
Final Draft is ready for your next adventure, whether it be a weekend cruise, an extended trip to the Keys, a fishing trip, or the Great Loop.
